                The weekend of April 8-9, 2016 kicked off the first Ultimate VIP Experience for two lucky members of the Official Members Club and their guests. Upon notifying the winners, their excitement was obvious.  This was going to be a “Once in a Lifetime” day featuring a ride around Texas Motor Speedway in the pace car, attendance of the driver’s meeting, and concluding with a visit to Victory Lane; all with a HOT Pass giving them access to the pits and garages during practice and race time.

 #18-Kyle Busch won the Duck Commander 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway for his 2nd win of the season, 2nd win at Texas and 36th career win. He led 34 of 334 laps. Busch also won the XFINITY Series race on Friday night. It is the 9th time he has swept both races at a track during the same weekend.

Ford Performance announced Stewart-Haas Racing will switch to Ford as its auto manufacturer partner starting with the 2017 NASCAR season. The multiyear agreement means that, beginning with Daytona Speedweeks in February 2017, the four-car Stewart-Haas Racing team will race the Ford Fusion with Ford engines prepared by Roush Yates Engines.

#14-Tony Stewart is being hospitalized for a back injury he suffered in a non-racing accident while driving an all-terrain vehicle, Stewart-Haas Racing announced Tuesday. Stewart is awake, alert and able to move his extremities, according to a statement from Stewart-Haas Racing spokesman Mike Arning, who said the accident happened Sunday on the West Coast and wouldn't specify where Stewart is hospitalized. Fox Sports reports that Stewart flipped a sand buggy outside of San Diego and was airlifted to a hospital.

NASCAR Chairman Brian France praised the elimination-style Chase format, said he's not for retiring car numbers and reiterated the sanctioning body's stance on not taking a win away from a team that fails post-race inspection. France made the comments during his annual appearance on Motor Racing Network's "NASCAR Live" on Tuesday night. France addressed many subjects during the 60-minute show, taking some questions from fans and others from host Eli Gold. Among topics discussed:

Seven-time IMSA Champions and six-time and defending Rolex 24 At Daytona Winners Ford Chip Ganassi Racing (FCGR) announced that they will field two Prototype (P) class entries at the Rolex 24 At Daytona in 2016. The addition of the #01 and #02 Ford EcoBoost Prototypes brings the FCGR car count to a team-record four entries for the race after previously announcing a pair of Ford GTs last month.
