Ford Performance announced Stewart-Haas Racing will switch to Ford as its auto manufacturer partner starting with the 2017 NASCAR season. The multiyear agreement means that, beginning with Daytona Speedweeks in February 2017, the four-car Stewart-Haas Racing team will race the Ford Fusion with Ford engines prepared by Roush Yates Engines.

#14-Tony Stewart is being hospitalized for a back injury he suffered in a non-racing accident while driving an all-terrain vehicle, Stewart-Haas Racing announced Tuesday. Stewart is awake, alert and able to move his extremities, according to a statement from Stewart-Haas Racing spokesman Mike Arning, who said the accident happened Sunday on the West Coast and wouldn't specify where Stewart is hospitalized. Fox Sports reports that Stewart flipped a sand buggy outside of San Diego and was airlifted to a hospital.

NASCAR Chairman Brian France praised the elimination-style Chase format, said he's not for retiring car numbers and reiterated the sanctioning body's stance on not taking a win away from a team that fails post-race inspection. France made the comments during his annual appearance on Motor Racing Network's "NASCAR Live" on Tuesday night. Richard Petty Motorsports announced the addition of Chris Heroy as Crew Chief for #9-Brian Scott. Heroy brings four years of experience as a Sprint Cup Series crew chief. The team announced Scott's addition to the team last week. Heroy will work with Scott during his first full-time season as a Sprint Cup Series driver. This won't be the first time that Heroy worked with a rookie driver. He led Kyle Larson to Rookie of the Year honors in 2014.

Former Modified great and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular Ron Bouchard passed away Thursday. Bouchard, a native of Fitchburg, Mass. and a member of the New England Auto Racers Hall of Fame, was 67 years old. Ed Flemke Jr. confirmed that Bouchard passed away early Thursday morning after battling cancer for many years. "It was a tough battle," said Flemke, Bouchard's brother-in-law. "But he fought the good fight, as he always did." Bouchard's wife Paula is the daughter of legendary Modified driver Ed Flemke Sr. "They were such a tremendous team," Ed Flemke Jr. said.

Joe Gibbs Racing is changing the complexion of its Sprint Cup crew chief line up for 2016. Sources have confirmed to Motorsport.com that Darian Grubb will no longer oversee the #19 ARRIS/Stanley Tools Toyota driven by Carl Edwards. Dave Rogers, who is currently crew chief for the #11 FedEx team and Denny Hamlin, is expected to move into the role. With Rogers taking over the #19 team, Mike Wheeler is expected to be named crew chief of the #11 crew and Hamlin.
